১৯৭১ সালের কথা বলছি। তখন আমাদের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ তুঙ্গে। একদিকে পাকিস্তান সেনাবাহিনী মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের হাতে মার খাচ্ছে, অন্যদিকে যুদ্ধের ভয়াবহতা ও পাকিস্তানি সেনা আর তাদের এ দেশীয় দোসরদের গণহত্যা থেকে বাঁচতে কোনো রকমে প্রাণটা নিয়ে প্রতিদিন হাজারে হাজারে শরণার্থী ভারতে প্রবেশ করছে। ভারতের, বিশেষ করে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ও ত্রিপুরার মানুষের কাছে আমাদের নাম হয়ে গেল ‘জয় বাংলার লোক’।
